I'll read fics about the Japanese canon, and I'll read fics about the English canon. But unless it's some bizarre crossover between the two, I don't want to see both Serena and Usagi appearing in the same story.

Or Ash and Satoshi.

Or Phoenix and Naruhodou. (although in that case it's a fandom joke that the Japanese and American canon occur in the same universe, so perhaps moot point is moot.)

Also applies to any other dubbed and localized fandom.

Dear Supernatural and Other Communities,

If I'm reading a story about two canon-manly-men and their canon-manly ways (Even with non-canon sex) you can pretty much guarantee that the second one of them starts (Not ironically or teasingly) baby talking to the other that is the end of that story as far as me reading it goes. Same applies to odd abbreviations of a character's name used as nicknames (e.g 'De' for Dean.) and silly nicknames in general.

Please. As a married woman I can assure you it's possible to have a sexual relationship/platonic friendship with somebody without talking to them like you never made it to kindergarten.

Dear American fanwriter:

I have lived in the UK all my life, and I can honestly say I have never heard anyone persistently say "feck" instead of "fuck". Maybe once or twice, but the correct word is still "fuck". I don't know where this idea of yours that the British do this is coming from, but it's kind of damaging the drama of your supposedly Oh So Twagic stories. Because it's inaccurate, annoying, and just plain strange.

I've been a bit of a lurker at the FE kinkmeme, and while I haven't filled or made any requests, the kinkmeme did inspire me, in a way, to start writing again. The first bit of writing I did? ... yaoi. Aughh I'm such a horrible person. But yeah! Thought I'd say hi and show the results of my writing. I know the pairing is a little strange, but if an "Info" scenario ingame inspires me, I tend to just go with it.

So I'm randomly all nostalgic for Fushigi Yuugi. I even tracked down miyuki_mina's old Miaka site, lol.

While I realize that the spell check does not catch this particular error, I have to sporfle just a touch at the phrase "the marital arts".  The mental images that this particular typo engenders in my mind range from nonsensical to thoroughly degenerate Mr. & Mrs. Smith features heavily, and I can almost guarantee that you did not intend to cause any of them.  When you are referring to a combat style/philosophy, as opposed to anything having to do with marriage, I imagine you mean 'martial'.


On an unrelated note, to the very next person who refuses to admit, even when confronted with quotes to the contrary from the show's creator, that Hiei and Kurama are not canonically paired:  I hope you burn to death in a flood.  A ship-following this heavily populated with OOC fluff and OMG!angst does not need you making us look any more deranged than we already do.




ETA:  Apparently the phrase "the marital arts" totally has its very own usage, the which I am now intrigued enough to investigate.  The more you know.  That said, when used in the middle of a rather serious YYH fanfic (as were the multiple examples touching off this post), its probably not what the author meant.

First off: Sueko isn't a Japanese name (to my knowledge). There are sites you can look at to find a suitable Japanese name for your Sue.

Second: There are five Gundam pilots involved with Operation Meteor, and none of them are your Sue.

Third of all: What'd Trowa do to deserve a Sue? Poor Trowa.

Fourth: "Tempo-Sphinx" is the gayest name ever for a Gundam. Just think about it - Tempo-Sphinx Gundam. Then again, I guess you have to have a sparkly name to shine amongst names like Wing, HeavyArms, Deathscythe, Sandrock, and Shenlong.

Fifth: If your Gundam has wings, I'm gonna smack you. Wing Zero (and Wing Zero Custom) is the only Gundam with angel wings. Doesn't make Heero special, does it.

Sixth: I'll smack you again if you have ZERO installed, too. I hope you realise that ZERO can make you go...oh, insane unless you're already half there yourself. I suggest you read this to get familiar with it. (Notice how it says only two Gundams have had it - that means your sparkly Sue? cannot have it.)

Aaaaand you're not the only one trained to be a killing machine, dearie. Lemme point you to Pilot 001, Heero Yuy. He showed remorse for a girl and her dog that accidentally got caught up in an explosion, and they retrained him. They basically said that emotions are for pussies.

So die in a fire. Your Sue is not special at all. Nope.
